Summary:

Limits the ability of law enforcement to release personal information about someone accused of or arrested for a non-violent crime. This bill also makes it a felony with a $1,000 fine to obtain or disseminate private information about a person accused of or arrested for a nonviolent crime. There are some exceptions in the bill, for example when there is an imminent threat of violence. The House amended the bill to specifically ban the release of booking photos unless the person is a fugitive from justice.
