HB 291 (2021)

Require Attorney General to analyze absentee ballot requests

Summary:

Requires town and city clerks to make absentee ballot voter lists available for public inspection within 60 days after an election, or earlier with a court order. This bill also requires the Secretary of State to make a report containing various data points on absentee ballots.

The Senate rewrote the bill to instead require the Attorney General to analyze absentee ballot requests "for evidence of misuse."

A conference committee of representatives and senators failed to agree on a final version of this bill.
