Description: If an institution of higher learning ceases instruction, this bill requires the Higher Education Commission to retain a copy of student transcripts for 40 years. At the time of this bill's submission, the law did not specify how long the commission must keep the transcripts. The Senate amended the bill to keep the transcripts for 50 years.
