Limit powers of school resource officers
Summary:
Establishes regulations for school resource officers. For example, this bill requires schools to publicly share any memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the school district and the law enforcement agency with the state Department of Education. As another example, this bill only allows a school resource officer to join a search of a student’s person, possessions, or locker if there is probable cause that the search will turn up evidence that the child has committed or is committing a crime.
