Summary:

Requires a health care practitioner issuing an initial prescription to a patient for an opioid to receive and document a verbal acknowledgment from the patient of the risk of addiction and overdose. The Senate amended the bill to also add an exception to the warning label requirement for opioid prescriptions for persons in a correctional facility.
