Increase public access to redistricting process
Summary:
First, this bill states, "Any resources used to assist any legislative committee appointed to consider redistricting after the decennial census that have been paid for with state funds shall be made available to both the majority and minority political parties of both the House of Representatives and Senate."
Second, this bill requires the committee working on redistricting to make any maps it creates or considers available online to the public.
Third, this bill requires an opportunity for public participation at every committee meeting on redistricting.
