Dialogue About Our Deepest Differences: Facilitating Current & Controversial Issues Discussions in the Classroom & School Community

The NH Institute for Civics Education will host a free workshop for educators titled Dialogue About Our Deepest Differences: Facilitating Current & Controversial Issues Discussions in the Classroom & School Communityon Friday, October 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. The workshop will take place in the Strafford Room in the Memorial Union Building.

Mary Ellen Daneels will offer the keynote talk on The Opportunity Cost of the Other and lead a workshop titled Don't Debate...Deliberate: Engaging Student Voice in Current and Controversial Issue Discussion.

There will also be a learning exchange led by Bruce Mallory and Michele Holt-Shannon.

There is a $75 stipend for full participation, including a reflection on current practice.
