Gov. Hassan visits D.C.

Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan traveled to Washington, D.C., on Friday for several days' worth of meetings and conferences with political officials. She is scheduled to return Monday.

Hassan's schedule includes meetings with President Obama and other democratic governors, delivering a speech at the America Votes summit, and attending the National Governors Association's three-day winter meeting.

She also planned to meet with the Coalition of Northeastern Governors to discuss New England's high energy costs.

Hassan is funding her trip to the National Governors Association's winter meeting through her inaugural committee's budget, NHPR reported.
