District 1

After Democratic Sen. Jeff Woodburn was arrested on assault charges involving an intimate partner, Kathleen Kelley started a write-in campaign against him. District 1 covers the northernmost towns in New Hampshire.

District 9

This district is currently held by Andy Sanborn, who is running for Congress. The district covers portions of Cheshire and Hillsborough Counties, including the town of Bedford.

Three Democrats are running in the primary: local government official Jeanne Dietsch, former gubernatorial candidate Mark Fernald, and farm owner Bruce Fox.

Two state representatives are running for the Republican nomination: Dan Hynes and Terry Wolf.

District 12

Two Democrats are running for this seat, which covers Nashua and the surrounding towns: businessman Tom Falter and current state Rep. Melanie Levesque.

Incumbent Republican Sen. Kevin Avard is also facing a primary challenge from Richard Dowd.

District 16

This district covers parts of Manchester and towns to the North. Republican David Boutin lost the office in 2016, then again in a special election again in 2017. Boutin wants to try for the office again, but he faces a primary challenge from current state Rep. Bill Kuch.
