According to a report from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, a dollar can buy slightly less in New Hampshire than in other states.

The report averaged price quotes for a broad array of items from state to state.  New Hampshire had the tenth highest prices in the nation.

Massachusetts had the eighth highest prices, while Vermont was ranked fifteenth.  Maine had the lowest prices in New England, coming in twenty-third.

However, New Hampshire residents also have a higher average income than residents in many other states.  Even after adjusting for the average price of goods, the report found that New Hampshire residents have the eleventh highest per capita personal income in the country.
