Most important issues this primary?

According to the most recent poll conducted by the UNH Survey Center, foreign policy or national security, including terrorism, are the most important issues to New Hampshire voters this presidential primary season.

50% of Republicans and 23% of Democrats identified national security as the most important issue when choosing a presidential candidate. The second most important issue was jobs and the economy, chosen by 18% of Democrats and Republicans.

After those top issues, Republicans chose immigration (12%), the budget or national debt (4%), and health care (4%). 

Democrats alternatively focused on the environment or climate change (10%), health care (10%), gun control (5%), and social issues (5%). 

The poll surveyed 402 likely Republican voters and 370 likely Democratic voters, with a margin of error of 3.2%.
