A new report from WalletHub ranked New Hampshire schools fourth in the nation for quality of education.

WalletHub included thirteen measures of school quality, from average SAT score to pupil-teacher ratio.

New Hampshire performed particularly well on standardized test scores.

WalletHub also ranked states on school system safety, and New Hampshire only ranked 25th.

The school safety ranking examined four data points: disciplinary incidents, bullying incidents, the percentage of students who report being threatened or injured on school property, and the youth incarceration rate.

The poor safety score was significantly impacted by bullying.  According to the Youth Risk Behavior Survey, New Hampshire has the 12th highest rate of bullying in the U.S.

However, New Hampshire schools perform better than average on other measures of student well-being.  For example, the percentage of students who feel unsafe traveling to or from school is below the national average.  New Hampshire students also report far fewer physical fights.
