NH motorcycle fatalities jump

May 20, 2016

According to preliminary data from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), motorcycle fatalities in New Hampshire increased over 50% from 2014 to 2015.

There were 26 motorcycle fatalities in New Hampshire in 2015, compared to 17 fatalities in 2014.

This increase may revive interest in a motorcycle helmet law in New Hampshire.

Bike Week in NH

Jun 12, 2015

This week over 250,000 motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to visit Laconia, New Hampshire for Motorcycle Week. Those visitors will spend an estimated $100 million in the area.

Meanwhile safety professionals are on the lookout for motorcycle accidents and fatalities. Although there were no motorcycle fatalities at last year’s Bike Week, motorcycle accidents typically spike during the June event.

The issue is complicated by the fact that New Hampshire does not require adult motorcyclists to wear helmets.
