This month the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports betting, opening the door to sports betting in New Hampshire.
The Granite State must pass a law to regulate sports betting before it becomes legal. That law would cover everything from the minimum age for betters to whether betting is allowed on school sports. A law would also set up a tax structure.
This year’s legislative session is nearing an end, so it’s unlikely that New Hampshire will authorize sports betting in 2018. A legislator will most likely introduce a bill in 2019.
