Stricter penalty for paying for sexual contact with a human trafficked child
Summary:
Increases the penalty for a person who pays to engage in sexual contact with another person under the age of 18 who is a victim of human trafficking, from a Class B to a Class A felony. The House amended the bill to keep it a Class B felony if the perpetrator is under age 20 and there is less than a three year age difference. The Senate amended the bill to instead only make it a Class A felony if the victim is under age 16.
