HB 504 (2021)

Summary:

Requires municipalities to pay the statewide education property tax (SWEPT) assessed, less administrative collection costs, to the state rather than keep education property tax revenue within the municipality. The state would be responsible for doling out education funding to schools. This bill also increases eligibility for low income property tax credits. The bill also creates a committee to study the low and moderate income homeowners property tax relief program.
