SB 413 (2024)
Create right to sue for PFAS cleanup
This bill did not become law.
Creates a new right to sue over PFAS contamination so that the state could sue any spiller of hazardous waste/materials, including PFAS, for cleanup. This bill would also allow a property owner to sue for point of entry treatment or connection to a public water system. The Senate also added this bill text to HB 1649.
The House amended this bill to add the text of HB 1115. That bill adds the expiration of the term of the lease or tenancy as grounds for an eviction. The Senate rejected this addition, killing the bill.
