"While heroin addiction is a serious problem in the state, there are some fundamental questions on what the responsibility of the government in providing funding for such things. Funding treatment programs are preferable to some of the more coercive enforcement measures that are frequently touted as a solution to this problem. Part of the response would be to make it easier for private organizations to provide help to those suffering from addiction."

"I do not believe that police brutality is a widespread problem within New Hampshire. Police within the state are professional and hardworking. There have been a few troubling incidences and actions taken by individual police as well as by police departments which highlight the need for the legislature to maintain oversight of police practices and ensure that citizens' rights are fully protected while ensuring police are able to perform their jobs."
