"I am not completely decided on this, but the State of New Hampshire must do something to increase revenue at the state level. Property taxes are out of control and the state needs to increase revenue in some way in order to appropriately provide funds to currently underfunded programs such as mental health, addiction prevention and treatment, public education, post-high school college and technical education.and other important services to insure everyone has an equal chance for prosperity in this state."

"Big money in politics is eroding our equality and freedom. And it is unjust: donations from the wealthy, large corporations, and Super PACs skew our elections toward the interests of the rich and (already) powerful.

The Citizen's United decision by the Supreme Court, treating Corporations as 'people' and allowing corporate donations has made this situation much worse in recent years.

I believe we need to bring campaigns back to an even playing field - where candidates of any party, any point of view can be fully seen and heard, and where voters can make choices based on hearing all points of view, and from all candidates. In the world of big money, candidates with big campaign funds drown out the voices of other candidates.

To this end, I would work for and support legislation for campaign finance laws which would insure all candidates have an equal chance to be evaluated by voters on their merits and positions."

"New Hampshire provides less state funding to the public University system than any other state in the union. And, it has the highest in-state tuition/fees in the country. A 2012 statistic shows that New Hampshire had the second highest rate of recent High School graduates who enrolled in college in a different state.

"I would work to support New Hampshire's universities, colleges, and community colleges. We need to keep our young people here, in New Hampshire and provide a good education at a reasonable cost. We need to help young people as they work to increase their ability to get good, well paying jobs. And we need a well-educated public."

"Happily, the SEC recently denied the Eversource application for 'Northern Pass' based on their inability to show that their plan will not negatively affect the environment or property values.

We don't know what will happen next, as Eversource appeals the decision, but this was an important victory for the people in Deerfield and other towns who worked so hard to prevent this devastating development in our state."
