Position on Issues

Candidate's Website, 2020

"I fully support our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear Arms 100% with no ambiguity. The war on our 2nd amendment rights from the left is real. Chris Pappas and his liberal friends in Congress want to take our guns away. Let me be clear – I won’t let them. I am the only candidate in this race that is 100% pro 2A. Now is not the time to nominate a Republican who doesn’t have a strong history of unequivocal support for the 2nd Amendment."

"I support the line item veto, a balanced budget amendment, expanding the Trump tax cuts and making them permanent, and congressional reform including term limits."

"Socialist-leaning liberals favor a combination of outright amnesty and expanded asylum programs. I strongly disagree with them. Rewarding illegal activity is wrong and only encourages more illegal activity. These same liberals also support sanctuary cities, which I believe is not only wrong, untenable and flies in the face of everything we value as a nation of laws."

"Fantastic day in Concord attending the Hold the Line Pro Gun/2A rally at the Statehouse. Great speakers and energy to defend our #2A rights!"

"I strongly believe in the protection of innocent life. I believe that every life is sacred. I also recognize that abortion is a deeply personal and polarizing issue and one where the Supreme Court has spoken. Until Roe v Wade is overturned, whatever action we take must comport with the state of the law as it now exists. I believe protecting the unborn shouldn’t simply be a fundraising tool or an empty slogan, which is why my focus is on building consensus around common sense legislation that can be enacted today to begin to reign in the horrors of abortion. I have said that the very first bill that I will file as a U.S. Congressman is Born Alive legislation identical to the bill filed here in NH by State Senator Regina Birdsell."

WMUR, 2020

When asked, "What federal laws or regulations would you propose to revamp police training and more effectively hold police officers responsible if they abuse their power to use excessive or deadly force?" Mayberry answered, "I think it is a state issue.  It is a local department issue. I don't think the federal government has any mandate in dictating policy that goes back to the states. I am a states' rights guy. I like decisions to be made as locally as possible, what works for them, for their department and their community. The measures I would be taking in New Hampshire, may not be the same as in another town. The governor has done a good job of leading on this. So I look to the state and our local communities, and also our police associations."

"I hate any kind of federal mandate. We live in a live free or die state, not a live free or comply state. If the individual, you make decisions. I... I felt we could have had the golf courses opened earlier, we could have opened the beach a little earlier, but that was the governor's call, not mine. I live in Dover, New Hampshire. Where I sit with this is, let individuals and adults decide what is best for them, and absolutely no federal mandates and no tracking of any kind."

"I am a strong believer in allowing taxpayers to keep more of their own money. The economy thrives when we are able to spend our money on the things that are important to us, not some bureaucrat in Washington. President Trump’s tax cuts were a great start. We should reauthorize and expand them. As part of that expansion I would propose going even further and work for a comprehensive overhaul of the entire tax codes."

WMUR, 2019

"With all the pressing issues facing our country, and we have a lot of them - from education to health care and caring for veterans and international trade - why Congress is spending millions of dollars to focus on impeaching a president is beyond me."

"I don't have a problem with medical marijuana. I had two friends friend who died of AIDS and a friend who died of cancer and on in both cases, they needed that for help them get through, Um, especially hard, my friend with cancer. One. She had it and he was older and they just needed that help. And I help them mom on on the recreational use of it. The challenge I have right now is that we don't have a banking system to allow is still against federal law for drugs. And so what's happening is we have all these Stashes of cash under mattress is because they can put in banks. They can't account for it. How are you taking income taxes from the sale of recreational marijuana in the states? There are legal when it's illegal to be doing that in a federal level, so I think for us we need to change our federal banking system to allow for that. And then it's a states rights guy. If your state says it's legal, that's you. Is not the federal government by. Do you think the federal government does have a role in how we counter for in our banking system? It's not there yet."

"For conservatives such as myself, the answer is simple: cut off the flow of illegal immigrants by completing President Trump's border wall. I would even suggest the idea of digging the walls deeper to prevent tunnels from being created and using sensors and drone technology to patrol the open desert spaces that span hundreds of miles. We also need to revamp our current system to efficiently process legal immigration applications, including H-1B and H-2B visas for our agricultural and tech industries. We must expedite the judicial process for expelling those here illegally."
