"The solution to cost is in individual choice. A tax deductible health savings account to pay for routine care along with a traditional indemnity insurance policy to cove unforeseen events will in all likelihood solve the problem of escalating cost. The individual determines how the health savings account will be spent, not the government nor insurance company using an unreliable crystal ball."

"Because of the world-wide concern for deleterious effects of burning fossil fuels for energy, NH has set a goal of 25% of energy production from renewable sources- wind, solar, biomass and others - by the year 2025. Currently energy production from renewables is 17%. NH gets 56% of its electricity from the Seabrook nuclear power plant, which has had almost flawless operation since it came online. Currently, wind power generates 2.3% of our electricity use. There are 3 wind farms in NH with a total of 69 wind turbines that generate 171 megawatts of electricity. To increase wind powered electricity generation to 10% would require 40 more wind turbines. Where would more wind farms be located that the public will not object to? Solar power generates less than 1% of NH energy, but has the potential to increase use because of better batteries to store electricity. The one drawback to solar: large areas of land are needed for solar panel arrays.

"Green house gas emissions in NH are quite low because of Seabrook. Nevertheless, proven oil and natural gas reserves in the U.S.A. are quite large. Technology to detoxify emissions should continue and be supported by government to meet the energy demands of the future, to continue to experiment with existing and as yet undiscovered sources of energy."
