"Did you know that a more focused, supported plan for renewable energy can be a job creator for NH? Yesterday I had the opportunity to take part in a zoom session about a 61 page discussion paper titled: 'A Renewable Energy Future for New Hampshire. An Action Plan with a Focus on Demand and Consumption.' I had the opportunity to hear from the authors, whose shared goals were clean, renewable and sustainable energy in NH. Although this was not a consensus paper, more of a discussion, I was enlightened to the fact that NH is currently behind the other New England states in offshore wind (except for VT obviously), which is a huge potential for renewable energy and adds an increased job market. Additionally, we are only currently at 21% efficiency in transportation. The main takeaway from the numerous interesting pieces of this paper was that there are many areas that need adjusting for us to achieve a goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. We can start by achieving more legislative support to assist NH in getting to a 100% renewable energy future."
