HB 1056 (2024)

Allow day care longer than 13 hours in some cases

Directs the Department of Health and Human Services to prioritize applications by child care employees for child care scholarships. This bill also provides that applications will be reviewed in an ongoing basis and prohibits waiting periods for reapplication following an application denial.

The House rewrote the bill. The new bill allows a child to remain in day care for more than 13 hours in some limited circumstances, such as when a parent is deployed during the weekend by the military.
