HB 408 (2023)
Clarify vaccination requirements for children in foster homes
This bill became law.
States that children living in a foster family home but who are not in foster care shall be subject to the same immunization requirements as any other child in the state, and shall have the same right to claim exemptions from vaccination requirements.
The Senate revised the language of the bill, instead requiring children living in a foster family home to meet the same immunization requirements as any other children in the state. This bill also requires the Department of Health and Human Services to seek a federal waiver to allow those children to claim any immunization exemption available to children under state law.
