HB 607 (2021)
Let parents receive state and local school funding for private/home school, with local approval
Summary:
Establishes "education freedom" accounts. The program allows the parent of a child age 5-20 to receive funds from a scholarship organization to pay for education expenses. In this bill, the scholarship funds would come from local per-pupil school funding as well as the state portion of per-pupil education funding. However, in order for a student to participate, his or her school district must vote with a 3/5 majority to adopt the local education freedom savings accounts program.
