SB 456 (2024)
Add to student loan relief for nurses
This bill did not become law.
Establishes a nurse retention school loan debt relief program for up to 20% of student loan debt for nurses who work in New Hampshire for four years.
The Senate amended the bill to instead send $300,000 to the Office of Rural Health for the state loan repayment program to qualified nursing professionals. This bill then directs the Department of Health and Human Services to offer a budget proposal for a student loan forgiveness program that would cover nurses who do not qualify for the state loan repayment program.
The Senate also added the text of this bill to HB 1585.
