"Abortion is still a very difficult legislative quagmire. The US Supreme Court over turned the right to abortion on the federal level. From the start ROE VS WADE was flawed. It did say women had the right to abortion but it never protected women's access to abortion. The ruling overturning ROE ended federal constitutional rights to abortion and put it back into the hands of each state legislature. Our current governor supports abortion and I am sure she has no interest in supporting any regulations in opposition to our current law which is abortion is legal up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for medical emergencies or fatal fetal abnormalities, Minors under 18 must notify parents or guardians at least 48 hours before procedure, though a judicial bypass is available. There is no mandatory waiting period for adults, and Telehealth services for medication abortion are permitted. Therefore, abortion is easily accessible in our state. I have no intentions of introducing changes to the current law since it would obviously fail in the legislature with current administration for which I will be serving."\
