Position on Issues

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"I do not believe that there should be freedom account vouchers for wealthy individuals. We need a cap on this program, and think that the criteria for eligibility should be significantly modified. This program is pulling money out of our public schools while rewarding many people whose children already attend private or religious schools. There should be vouchers only for students where there is a strong need for that particular child."

Should New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law allow segregation based on biological sex in some settings, such as bathrooms and locker rooms?

"I believe there is another solution, which is to create same sex bathrooms and locker room areas that are completely private and safe for all parties."

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"I believe that a woman should have the ability to abort after a fatal fetal diagnosis or when necessary to protect her life or physical health. In these situations, the decision should rest with a woman, her family, and her health providers. I do not believe that a viable fetus should be aborted."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?

"Despite statements by the majority party, most NH Dems do not support a broad-based income tax. I do not support a broad based income tax."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?

"I am against the continual decrease in corporate business taxes, but with a carveout for small businesses. The corporate tax should be hitting large corporations, particularly out of state companies."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Yes, local communities need to be able to provide incentives for housing development in their own communities. Builders will not build unless there is some ability to make a profit, and to have an incentive to build affordable housing."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire do more to encourage the development of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), in the state?

"Small modular reactors (SMRs) are less costly to build, can be constructed more easily, and include enhanced safety features. It would also increase reliable electricity, and have less greenhouse gas emissions."

"It is essential that we fund an agency to ensure the welfare of NH children"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire guarantee the right to access abortion before 24 weeks?

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire reinstate the interest and dividends tax?

"Yes, but with a carveout for low income individuals. This should be applied to high income individuals."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"Right now, property taxes fund education largely based on where property wealth is concentrated, not where educational needs are greatest or where taxpayers have the greatest ability to pay. School funding depends heavily on property values, which means that children in the wealthiest communities are provided with more educational resources."

Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire allow at least 10% of students in each school district to enroll in a different public school, regardless of where they live?

"I believe that enabling students to enroll in a different public school should not be based on a percentage. Only students with a strong reason to belong in another district should be going to another district, i.e., bullying in their current school. This policy could weaken schools in less prosperous communities."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026
