Executive order gives parents of American citizens or legal resident children who have lived in the U.S. for more than five years relief from deportation if they register with the government, undergo background checks, and pay taxes. It will also allow immigration enforcement officials to focus resources on deporting felons, not families. Believes these actions to help reform our immigration system will strengthen our country, grow our economy by up to $210 billion in ten years, and could shrink the federal deficit by up to $25 billion over the next decade.

Supports expanding background checks on the purchase of weapons. Issued 23 executive actions in 2013 related to reducing gun violence including improving incentives for states to share information with the background check system and issuing a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

President Obama believes Climate Change is real, man-made, and happening now. Believes if we don't act to curb current global emissions, they could lead to a global temperature increase of over 4 degrees Celsius (7.2 degrees Fahrenheit) by 2100-a scenario widely considered a global catastrophe, contributing to extreme weather, food and water shortage, and global instability. The President has announced a new set of carbon pollution standards on new and existing power plants-a monumental step toward reducing the carbon pollution the United States generates. He claims the plan will reduce carbon pollution from existing power plants 30% from a 2005 baseline by 2030.
