Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"I do not. This is a poorly constructed program. Public funds should not be spent on private and religious schools, the latter which violates the separation of church and state. There is zero accountability for where the money goes with this program. Any family income qualifies which means families who don’t need the support are taking money out of our public schools. In 2025-2026, more than 96% of the students participating in taking public funds away from public schools through this program were already enrolled in private schools or home education meaning they did not need these funds. This program only hurts our local public schools and, in the end, raises all of our local property taxes. This program needs to wind down and be eliminated."Against| Read My Position

"No - this has been and will always be a NH advantage. There are other avenues for revenue that have been given away that need to be readdressed. I also want to take a closer examination at how our state revenues are being spent and make decisions that will benefit working families and communities like Farmington."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?
"In fact this needs to be returned to what they were originally set - at the very least for larger businesses and corporations. These taxes were put into place so that NH could remain income tax and sales tax free. This is lost revenue for the state that then needs to be made up somewhere - and it ends up being paid at the local property tax. The slow reduction of these business taxes are correlated directly with the increase in our local property taxes. For small businesses the reduction of the business tax rate of 0.05% results in around $500 - not enough to hire a new worker or spur economic growth. This reduction of 0.05% represents more than an estimated $26 million state-wide in this year alone and more than an estimated $795 million since cuts to the business taxes began in 2015. When state programs and services are cut and our local property taxes go up - this is one reason why."For| Read My Position

"Yes - Affordable housing is a major issue in Farmington and across the state. Local communities should have more flexibility to adjust zoning changes that fit their community that are targeted for housing development."Against| Read My Position

"We have a need in our state for lowering energy costs for all families and businesses but there are viable alternatives such as solar that I feel much more comfortable pursuing for the sake of our families and citizens. "Yes. We should be seeking more ways to garner solar energy and other renewable energy sources. This can spur renewable energy growth, benefit small town projects, and lower demand pressure for energy. Additionally, there needs to be ways to share costs and tax burdens so that those who do not have solar aren’t left paying all the tax and infrastructure burdens. Let’s do this."For| Read My Position

This huge loss in revenue has forced our state government to cut health and human services, child care assistance, and environmental programs. "No. Currently, NH is 50th in state funding to public schools - dead last. It is past time to address and fix this funding issue. "I am a supporter of the 2nd Amendment right to own guns and I have taken hunter safety courses myself. However, there are specifics we should consider for the safety of all such as a wait period and background check before the purchase of an assault rifle. I would also propose that no guns can be carried on pre-school and K-12 campuses unless by law enforcement or those approved by the local school board."
