Position on Issues

"As a practicing Catholic, I'm motivated by the teachings of Christ, and my values stem from His words. I relate to the parables and the life of Jesus and the Apostles, and my faith tells me to support each person's freedom to choose. Their experiences and education should motivate them to do the right thing, but we all must have options. In this spirit, I support a woman's right to choose before 20 weeks. I support the right of abortion in cases of rape, incest, and grave danger to the mother, but after 20 weeks, I believe the child has a constitutional right to its own life, liberty, and posterity."

"It's absolutely crazy and backwards politics that our bordering states of Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts all decriminalize marijuana under an ounce, yet we in New Hampshire still administer preposterous punishments for possessing pot. I am in favor of ending the crusade against marijuana, and will support scientifically supported opiate substitutes for pain management, such as CBD oil and medical marijuana. In New Hampshire alone, we lose more than a person a day from a heroin and prescription opiate abuse. Let's make it easier to access safer alternatives to potent opiates or potentially laced heroin, fentanyl, and carfentanyl for treatment."

"Though I'm a Republican, I intend to support climate change initiatives, especially retaining New Hampshire's membership in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), protect women's healthcare rights, and prevent discrimination against the LGBTQ community."

"I support a repeal and replace of the Affordable Care Act in its current form, but I also support moderate New Hampshire Republicans' expansion of Medicaid. After the landmark Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) passed Congress last fall, it released the bare minimum funding in grants and other line items annually. Medicaid expansion is vital to combatting an opioid epidemic that claimed a record 433 lives in 2015."

"I support the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and will work to uphold General John Stark's words when he said, "Live free or die; death is not the worst of evils." Specifically, I support constitutional carry, New Hampshire's concealed carry permit, which is reciprocal in 21 states, and the right to defend your homestead from attack. But I also believe it should be obstinately difficult for criminals and those with severe mental health disorders from possessing a firearm, thus, as a Representative, I would support commonsense tweaks which strengthen background checks and improve reporting to the National Instant Check System."
