"All families should be able to choose what educational approach works best for their children. Choice is not only good, it's just. But modeling the EFA system on Arizona's -- a state with radically different funding mechanics -- is damaging our towns. Furthermore, families who can afford to make choices outside of the public school system should not be receiving a subsidy from public funds. Currently, funds are being given to families who not only could already choose, those funds are not backed by any new revenue stream. We need to get the means cap back on, and we need to return to fiscal responsibility, where we do not spend money we do not have."

"Our housing situation is dire, and it's clearly a supply/demand problem. But towns have erected artifical exclusionary barriers to keep people out. Businesses cannot hire without workers, and workers need places to live. Our children are leaving the state for opportunities in places with more reasonable housing prices. It's untenable, and it's hurting the entire state. We need to lower these barriers."

"I don't think the approach being taken by the legislature (to date) aligns with how we fund our schools. Allowing open enrollment should not come w/ a negative fiscal impact on local taxpayers. I'm also not convinced a hard and fast percentage (whether 10% or another number) is sensible."
