"This is one of the worst laws passed this last term. Our nation is based on a wonderful and noble idea, but we have frequently and repeatedly not lived up to our promise. Critical thinking skills are essential so that our students can see where we have succeeded and where we have failed, and how we can do better."

"I think this is one of the most important issues in the state. We have the nation's lowest rate of state aid to education. Our teachers and staff work heroically to maintain a quality school system, but the burden is on people who may not have the ability to pay, potentially driving them from their homes. We deserve better."

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?

"We should immediately ban assault rifles; they have no other use than to kill people quickly. I have no objection to people owning firearms for sport and hunting, but I believe that we should have strong background checks, red flag laws and a higher minimum age to legally purchase a weapon."
