"Funding to address the opioid epidemic is critical but it should not be limited just to treatment. Long term discontinued funding for substance abuse prevention has significantly harmed NH's ability to maintain an appropriate workforce base. The crisis demonstrates the failure in our long term approach. A strategic and long term commitment must be made if we are to effectively rebuild in-state resources and gain real ground on this epidemic."

Was NH right to expand Medicaid eligibility, using private insurance wherever possible?
"The question and available responses are not consistent. Supporting expanded Medicaid vs doing so by using private insurance are different questions. Families in my district and many others are benefiting from expanded Medicaid and that yields good outcomes. I think it's too early to determine if our private insurance model is the best."
