Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"This is a many years long Republican/Liberatarian effort to undermine the national Public Schools System."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law allow segregation based on biological sex in some settings, such as bathrooms and locker rooms?

"This is a phony subject put out by tax avoiding Republican billionares to get us focused on other topics. It is bigotry on a microscopic level to order to distract. When are people going to wake up? When they have no civil rights at all?"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"Against"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?

"No broad-based tax will be fair until we develop a method that removes the burden on the hard-working, property owners, with equal burden to all levels of taxpayers."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?

"Since Republicans have lowered the buisness tax the property tax payers are taking up the burden"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"Tricky question 'Encourage' means legislate. The state should not force mandates on localities, leave it to the local planning boards to make the more informed decisions in their towns"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire do more to encourage the development of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), in the state?

"This is a large subject concerning with HUGE consequences. I am against local control on this issue and private ownership is too risky due to operations for profit conduct and waste/disposal issues and transportation issues and lack of government to control oversight without major regulation. Generally, I am suppoortive of smaller nuclear reactors but only with government oversight and regulation."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?

"For"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire reinstate the interest and dividends tax?

"NH Policy Institute reveals that the interest and dividends tax only affects 400 households of the ultra wealthy in this state. More specifics needed."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"No, we get lots of funding from Federal and State Resources. Do not send money to Washington unused. The state needs to participate in funding and pass everything downward to the towns and cities/ Lower-income base towns need help in elevating the level to those from higher income towns and cities. That is the capitalist way according to the moral intent as best described on the Statue of Liberty"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?

"Licensed for business sales with taxation systems matching our neighboring states. We should not be on the 'go-to' state as we are with liquor. Our liquor sales taxes should be increased and sent to the education budgets."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by licensing growers and private retail locations?

"Licensed for business sales with taxation systems matching our neighboring states. We should not be on the 'go-to' state as we are with liquor. Our liquor sales taxes should be increased and sent to the education budgets."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by establishing state-run cannabis stores?
"Licensed for business sales with taxation systems matching our neighboring states. We should not be on the 'go-to' state as we are with liquor. Our liquor sales taxes should be increased and sent to the education budgets."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?

"Microscopic problem, never been a problem until a president couldn't believe he lost"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire allow at least 10% of students in each school district to enroll in a different public school, regardless of where they live?

"Hmm, 'with limits' is tricky, 99% of District 8 students and parents are happy with the level of education levels and the students stay at our local schools. There are exceptions due to behaviors and logistics. The privileged should not use taxpayer expense money to select-a-school"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should state law cap how much local school districts can increase their budget each year?

"Better enforcement of the gun laws we have. However; an outright ban on machine guns in private hands must continue"
