Should New Hampshire ban discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3?

"Any topic discussed in schools should reflect appropriateness for the age level of the students. With that being said, it is important to provide children with an understanding of diversity and social topics they will see out in the world."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?

Should NH add a broad-based sales tax?

"Broad based sales tax would disproportionately impact low-wage earners, though I do see the value in a very low broad based sales tax if it was implemented in order to help alleviate property taxes. Additionally, a broad based sales tax that is below the surrounding states would be less likely to discourage retail income from out-of-staters. I would need to learn more about this topic."

Should New Hampshire add a tax credit for businesses that contribute to student loan repayment for employees?

"I am in agreement with this idea, however, I think it is important that the business have a policy that is not overly vague or unenforceable so as to avoid businesses who may try to exploit the tax credit without ensuring they are meaningfully contributing to student loan repayment. In order to keep businesses accountable, I believe this tax credit should be graded based on metrics that show how much or how often they are contributing to student loan repayment. This creates incentive and allows us to keep detailed records of the impact the tax credit system is having."

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?

"I feel that small businesses should have a reduced tax burden compared to large companies, corporations, etc. I also believe we should consider creative policies to incentivize people to work for and spend money at small businesses in order to support our small business owners."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?

"This is a topic I would need to learn more about prior to making a decision, but it is my understanding that zoning laws have contributed to the current housing crisis due to significant delays in new construction. I do think the state should support municipalities in reviewing and removing zoning laws that serve only as barriers to the development of the town/city. The level of housing instability right now shows a clear need for new solutions."

Should New Hampshire raise the minimum wage?

"I believe not only in increasing the minimum wage, but identifying a way to keep wages across the employment spectrum competitive and reflective of both cost of living and inflation in New Hampshire. I believe this will help keep employment in-state while ensuring that Granite Staters have a reasonable standard of living. Additionally, in creating a progressive plan for implementing this, it should include tax incentives or other types of protections for small businesses that do not have the resources now to make those changes happen."

Should the state permanently increase how much tax revenue it shares with towns and cities every year, beyond public school funding?

"I would need to learn more about this topic before I could comment."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2022

Do you support the gradual phase-out of the Interests and Dividends tax?

"I would need to learn more about this topic to provide a more in-depth opinion on this. What I will say that is that it is imperative for families to be able to build savings for retirement, healthcare, generational wealth for their families, and so many more reasons. Allowing people to retain more of their interest and dividends has the potential to reduce the burden on the state as it pertains to long-term care services and needs, and similar situations."

"I believe that the people of New Hampshire have the right to bear arms. I also believe they should be required to follow gun safety practice and law the same way that motor vehicle operators are. I do support gun regulation laws, and I also believe the state should be responsible for providing widespread gun safety education as some other states do."
