Position on Issues

Candidate's Website, 2026

"SB295 expands the EFA system beyond demonstrated financial need while still requiring the state to continue funding both public education obligations and an increasingly broad voucher structure. ... In other words, the state does not know how large the program may become, yet taxpayers remain obligated to fund it indefinitely.

"That is not a criticism of educational alternatives themselves. It is a question of sustainability, predictability, and long-term fiscal planning.

"At a time when residents are already dealing with rising property taxes, increasing housing costs, and higher energy bills, New Hampshire needs to think carefully about how many parallel obligations the current system can realistically support."

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?

Candidate's Website, 2026

"New Hampshire is already surrounded by legal states. Granite Staters are already using cannabis. The question is not whether cannabis exists here. It does. The question is whether New Hampshire wants that use controlled by an illicit market, or by a regulated system with age checks, testing, labeling, tax revenue, public-health funding, and accountability.

"The public is not the main barrier. The New Hampshire Senate and the governor’s office are. And if they are going to keep blocking reform, they should have to do so with evidence that survives scrutiny — not recycled scare numbers from a 2018 Colorado report whose own assumptions begin to fall apart under review.

"So, when we look at the specific arguments that have been levied in opposition of ending cannabis prohibition, they are either simply not true, skewed, or have been misstated. Sticking our heads in the sand over this won’t make cannabis go away, it’ll only force New Hampshire residents to continue to lose money across the border and paying for it with their property taxes."

"There’s nothing wrong with trying to control costs.

"The problem is how it’s being done.

"Policies that focus on limiting spending without addressing the reasons those costs are increasing tend to shift pressure rather than resolve it.

"We’ve seen this pattern before. Programs expand, obligations grow, and then new policies are introduced to manage the financial strain that follows.

"Meanwhile, residents are still dealing with the same reality:

"higher costs, less predictability, and fewer clear long-term solutions.

"If affordability is the goal, then the focus needs to be on how those costs are created—not just how they are limited."
