"at first blush this looks like a tax on the rich; until you realize they can just create a legal shell corp somewhere this does not exist and shield their capital gains from the state (assuming they just didn't leave outright). this in turn makes the capital gains tax a punitive tax on the middle class looking to set aside money for retirement via investments."

"net metering would require supply and demand to fluctuate electricity rates which may not be something we want. this is due to how electricity use fluctuates over the course of the day. "It would seem odd at first blush for me to be against this as I know that business is what underwrites everything, it's just that it would be better for business taxes to be lower than exacerbating a boom and bust cycle as there can be more incentive to start a business than to keep it running"
