"'I do not own a gun,' he said, 'I probably never will own a gun until they tell me I can't have a gun, and then I would go buy a gun. I think the right to bear arms is everyone's. My issue is when the Constitution was written, they had muskets. I know at the time the leaders knew that things would change and evolve, but I don't know if they thought they would evolve into what we have today. There are some assault rifles and whatnot that I don't personally believe the outdoorsman needs. If you want to belong to a hunting club or a gun club, I think the people who run them should have those types of weapons if people wanted to fire them and see what they are like.'
