Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"The EFAs have little management transparency. The vast majority of families using EFAs have not had students in public schools ever. The majority of these funds go to religious schools which violates the Constitutional separation of church and state. We are also funding home schoolers who have never attended public schools. While I have nothing against home schooling, that's a choice families make and should not impact local taxes. I understand student needs don't always fit in our publuc programs but EFAs are not the solution. Adequate state funding for all schools is. The EFA program was sold to us as an opportunity for specialized learning for low income families. Now there are no income limits so wealthy families can take advantage of low income families. Our current public schools can (an do) provide specialized care. if smaller towns can't afford to budget for sufficient learning flexibility, that is a mistake of the state's cost per pupil distribution for an adequate education."Against| Read My Position

"I have never been given any evidence that non-segregated bathrooms and locker rooms is a problem. I just hear under educated people fear mongering. My children's generation doesn't seem to be worried about this, but that is just an anecdotal observation."Against| Read My Position

"Every municipality is different. Blanket mandated zoning is problematic for municipalities without the adequate infrastructure mandated zoning may require. Local control can solve the problems if a community chooses their own growth. What the state needs to do is provide incentives for workforce rate growth. "Nuclear power can be an advantage eventually. Building a plant is costly and would require bonds that extend years before any lower utility rates will be realized. Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?
"Birth certificates do prove citizenship but not all states allow for mail in requests for a document that most people don't have on hand. That means some one may have to travel to obtain a copy and might decide not to bother and thus don't register and then can't vote. Passports are active for ten years and during that time someone may have changed their name (marriage, divorce, adoption, mostly affecting only women) that doesn't match current photo IDs or addresses. The number of instances of non-citizen voting, studied by several independent groups have found a miniscule number of instances (nationally) and also that, when further local investigations are done, the number even decreases. I feel this requirement is unnecessary, can be burdensome and is a scare tactic."Against| Read My Position

Should state law cap how much local school districts can increase their budget each year?
"Municipalities already have the right to adopt a tax and/or budget cap. A state mandated cap will worsen the inequities between wealthy and poorer towns. Cuts will have to be made. Fewer teachers, larger class sizes, fewer opportunities for varied curriculum. No town has the same financial situation so mandating ALL towns to cap budgets will have a detrimental effect on the towns that struggle the most. Again, it is the state's fault for inadequate funding per pupil. A mandated cap will not solve school budget current and future costs and needs."For| Read My Position

"While 2nd amendment rights are established, how they are protected is not. With the concealed carry law loosened as it has been, police are concerned about what they may be walking into in any situation.Even with stricter laws, if someone wants access to a firearm, they'll find a way to get it as has been proven in incidents across the country."
