Hi, I’m Kristine “Krissi” Trow, and I’m running to represent Derry’s District 13 in the New Hampshire House because I believe our community deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and puts people first.
I’m a 4th-generation Derry native, proud to have raised my family here. My children are 5th-generation Derry residents, and my grandchildren are the 6th generation to call our community home. Derry isn’t just where I live, it’s home.
My background includes more than 25 years as a Certified Dental Assistant, over 12 years working at Shaw’s in Derry, and 10 years as a Mary Kay Sales Director, where I learned the value of leadership, communication, and serving others.
Community service has always been important to me. I proudly served as Junior Vice President of VFW Auxiliary Post 1617 and was honored to receive the President’s Award for my service. I also volunteer with local organizations, including supporting wildlife conservation efforts that help protect New Hampshire’s natural heritage.
As your State Representative, I’ll work to strengthen our public schools, make housing more affordable, support our veterans 🇺🇸, protect our environment and wildlife, and fight for transparent, accountable government. I believe in bringing people together to find practical solutions that make life better for everyone in Derry.
When I’m not campaigning, you’ll often find me photographing birds and wildlife, spending time with my family and grandchildren, or volunteering in the community I love.
I’m not running for a title—I’m running to be a voice for my neighbors and to help build a stronger future for Derry.

Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"I believe public education is the foundation of our communities. State education dollars should be invested first in strengthening our public schools rather than expanding private school subsidies. My priority is ensuring every child has access to a quality education while reducing the property tax burden on local communities."Other| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law allow segregation based on biological sex in some settings, such as bathrooms and locker rooms?
"I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I also recognize that privacy and safety are important in settings such as bathrooms and locker rooms. I support practical, case-by-case solutions that protect individual privacy while ensuring no one faces discrimination. Whenever feasible, options such as private or single-user facilities should be available to accommodate everyone's needs."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"I support restoring the protections that existed under Roe v. Wade. I believe these deeply personal medical decisions should be made by a woman in consultation with her family and healthcare provider, not by politicians. I also support exceptions when the life or health of the pregnant patient is at risk and in cases involving serious fetal conditions, consistent with established medical standards."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the second trimester (e.g. after 15 weeks gestation)?
"I support restoring the protections that existed under Roe v. Wade. Should NH add an income tax on earned income?
"As a lifelong New Hampshire resident, I value our state's tradition of not having a broad-based income tax. Rather than creating a new income tax, I believe we should focus on finding responsible ways to reduce the property tax burden on homeowners, renters, seniors, and working families while maintaining strong public schools and essential services."Other| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?
"I support keeping New Hampshire competitive for businesses, especially small and locally owned businesses. However, I do not support across-the-board business tax cuts if they shift costs onto homeowners through higher property taxes or reduce funding for public education, infrastructure, or essential services. Any tax relief should be targeted, fiscally responsible, and benefit working families and local communities."Other| Read My Position

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"New Hampshire needs more housing, especially for working families, young adults, and seniors. I support helping communities remove unnecessary barriers to responsible housing development while preserving local decision-making and ensuring growth is supported by adequate infrastructure and public services."Other| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire do more to encourage the development of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), in the state?
"I support exploring advanced nuclear technologies, including small modular reactors, as part of a diverse clean energy strategy. Any development must meet the highest safety standards, protect our environment, involve public input, and demonstrate clear benefits for New Hampshire ratepayers and communities."For| Read My Position

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?
"I support expanding net metering as a way to give homeowners, farms, nonprofits, schools, and businesses more opportunities to invest in renewable energy and lower their energy costs, while ensuring the electric grid remains reliable and fair for all customers."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire restore funding for the Office of the Child Advocate?
"I support restoring funding for the Office of the Child Advocate to ensure independent oversight of New Hampshire's child welfare system. Every child deserves to be safe, heard, and protected. An independent advocate helps improve accountability, identify systemic problems, and strengthen services for children and families."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire reinstate the interest and dividends tax?
"I would support a carefully designed tax on substantial investment income only if it protects middle-income families and retirees with modest savings and is paired with meaningful property tax relief and investments in public education."Against| Read My Position

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"As a Derry resident, I've seen how our reliance on local property taxes places an increasing burden on homeowners, renters, and seniors. I support finding a fairer statewide funding solution that strengthens public education while reducing pressure on local property taxes."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?
"I support the legalization and regulation of adult-use cannabis through licensed private growers and retailers—not state-run stores. I support reasonable regulations, age restrictions, product safety testing, and enforcement against impaired driving. Revenue generated should benefit New Hampshire communities through priorities such as education, mental health and substance use treatment, public safety, and property tax relief."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?
"I support verifying U.S. citizenship when registering to vote, however the process must be accessible and not prevent eligible citizens from participating. Many people, including adoptees, former foster youth, and others, may have difficulty obtaining a birth certificate. I support providing a free, secure voter identification system or federally funded documentation so cost is never a barrier to voting. Election integrity and voter access should go hand in hand."Other| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire allow at least 10% of students in each school district to enroll in a different public school, regardless of where they live?
"I support giving families more educational opportunities when it benefits students, but any open enrollment system must protect local public schools, respect classroom capacity, ensure fair funding, and avoid placing additional financial burdens on local taxpayers. Student success should come first, not weakening neighborhood schools."For| Read My Position

Should state law cap how much local school districts can increase their budget each year?
"I do not support a one-size-fits-all state mandate that caps local school district budgets. Local voters and school boards are in the best position to determine their community's educational needs. I support reducing property taxes through fairer state funding, not by restricting local control or underfunding our public schools."For| Read My Position

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?
"I support responsible, common-sense gun safety laws while respecting the Second Amendment. I believe background checks should be universal and consistent nationwide, including for gun show and private sales. I also support a reasonable waiting period to allow thorough background checks and help reduce impulsive acts of violence or suicide. Law-abiding citizens should be able to exercise their constitutional rights, while keeping firearms out of the hands of people who are legally prohibited from possessing them."
