Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"I am against the EFAs having no income cap or audits. There needs to be an income cap so that state funds are not being diverted from school districts to pay for wealthy families to send their children to private schools. There also needs to be auditing of the funds that are going to families and checks in place to make sure that home schooled children are receiving an adequate education."Other| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law allow segregation based on biological sex in some settings, such as bathrooms and locker rooms?

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?
"The current law in New Hampshire is fine. My priorities are lowering property taxes, protecting our public schools and solving the housing crisis not culture war distractions. You don’t have to believe that abortion is right to believe that the government should not get involved in decisions made by women and their doctors."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?
"New Hampshire has never had a broad-based income tax, and I don't support instituting one. There are other ways to increase revenue without an income tax and we can spend the current revenue more fairly and judiciously."Against| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?
"I don't support another business tax cut at this time. To lower property taxes, we need businesses that can afford it to help carry the load, not shrink their contribution further. This is one way to increase revenue but should only be applied to large corporations with incomes exceeding a minimum threshold."

Should New Hampshire add a tax on capital gains?
"We should look at all options to increase revenue so that the state can fund critical services so this might be an option. However, there there should be a reasonable income threshold so it protects retirees and working families living on modest savings, while asking those with substantial investment income to contribute their share."

Should New Hampshire government do more to address climate change?
"Absolutely! We should do everything we can to encourage people to 'go green' with renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, etc. We need to combat climate change and preserve the environment for future generations. It's also an economic issue since we need to maintain the natural beauty of NH for tourism"

Do you support giving voters who register without ID on Election Day a ballot that only counts if they return identifying documents to the state before a deadline?
"This is a reasonable way to ensure that only people who are eligible to vote but don't have the necessary documentation (e.g. college students) readily available can still exercise their right to vote."

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"New Hampshire's lack of affordable housing is making it difficult for families to live here and employees to live close to where they work. Outdated zoning is a big part of the problem and to solve this, I support giving municipalities incentives, but not mandates, to cut red tape and allow more affordable housing to get built."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire do more to encourage the development of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), in the state?
"We need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, so I support exploring small modular reactors as part of New Hampshire's energy future. We must consider every safe option but strict safety and environmental standards must built in from the start."For| Read My Position

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?
"Net metering helps homeowners and businesses invest in solar energy to lower their energy costs and get fair credit for the power they generate. It’s a great way to encourage the use of renewable energy and a step towards energy independence. (NOTE: I have solar panels on my house but don’t exceed the 1MW cap.)"For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire restore funding for the Office of the Child Advocate?
"I support restoring funding for the Office of the Child Advocate. It's a tiny fraction of the state budget, and it exists to protect kids who often have no one else fighting for them. There's no good reason not to fund it."Other| Read My Position

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?
"New Hampshire is dead last in the nation in state funding for public schools. That's why our property taxes are so high and increasing. We have to work across the aisle and agree on a better system for all families, not just the wealthy. Every child deserves a chance to work hard and succeed. I'll fight for lower property taxes and good public schools in every community."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?
"I support decriminalizing and allowing home cultivation for personal use, paired with real investment in youth prevention programs, since we know early use affects adolescent development. Also, we should get all of the stakeholders together and look at the latest information, including what has worked and what hasn’t in other states to make sure that the NH isn’t wasting more taxpayer money on expensive lawyers and huge legal settlements by rushing into new laws without a plan."For| Read My Position

Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?
"The current requirements which include an affidavit and proof of residency are sufficient as Federal Judge recently ruled. Election officials and experts from both parties agree that New Hampshire’s elections are free and fair. Every citizen can see this for themselves when they vote. The Secretary of State, local officials, and thousands of volunteer election workers protect our patriotic tradition of safe and efficient elections. Should New Hampshire allow at least 10% of students in each school district to enroll in a different public school, regardless of where they live?
"This would exacerbate the existing inequities between schools in high property value towns versus low property value towns since wealthier families could afford to drive their children to schools in other districts. It would also make school budgeting more difficult since the administrators and school boards wouldn’t know how many children might be leaving or coming to their districts every year. The fix isn't open enrollment; it's funding every school fairly in the first place."Against| Read My Position
