"The passage of EFA vouchers for students who attend religious or charter schools or who are homeschooled has taken money directly from local school budgets. The program has no legislative oversight or academic accountability. For many students, public schools are the springboard into a better career path, whether that is college, a trade, or a small business venture. The Free State agenda is intent on defunding our public schools. As a retired public school teacher, I will fight to support and fairly fund our public schools. "Small businesses are getting crushed. Concord can help small businesses by reducing fees and streamlining government processes. Workforce housing also needs to be consider so people can live close to where they work. We need to separate how we tax small businesses and large corporations, but that is not currently happening in Concord.
