Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support the “Education Freedom Account” program, which gives students access to the per-pupil share of state school funding to spend on private school or home school expenses?
"I am totally against this. According to my understanding of the first ammendment, no state or town money should go towards religious schools."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law allow segregation based on biological sex in some settings, such as bathrooms and locker rooms?

"The state should stay out of people's gender identities."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"Abortion is between a woman and her doctor. The state has no right to be involved."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the second trimester (e.g. after 15 weeks gestation)?
"Abortion is between a woman and her doctor. The state has no right to be involved."

Should NH add an income tax on earned income?

"I refuse to come out as against. I want taxes to be fair. How that happens is far less important than making it happen."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire lower business taxes?

"Once again it all boils down to fairness. The larger the business, probably the greater the tax rate."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should the state do more to encourage municipalities to remove zoning barriers to housing development?
"I can not speak for other communities, but the planning and zoning boards in Milan do quite a good job."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire do more to encourage the development of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), in the state?

"This might be something that the voters of the state should decide via referendum. My knee-jerk reaction is to be very cautious and get more input from the voters in my district."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support legislation to expand the net energy metering system capacity cap from 1 MW to 5 MW for all residential and commercial customers in New Hampshire?

"I really have not paid a lot of attention to this."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire restore funding for the Office of the Child Advocate?

"After what has gone on in the YDC, YES!"

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire guarantee the right to access abortion before 24 weeks?

"Abortion is between a woman and her doctor. The state has no right to be involved."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire reinstate the interest and dividends tax?

"In the interests of fairness, everything is on the table. There is probably a minimum amount below which it does not make sense to tax, but what that number is would need to be discussed and negotiated."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"This is a ridiculously unfair system. The state should be funding education. The state and towns should only pay for public schools except for special needs students who require out of school placement."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by allowing home-growing and private use without sales?

"Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Quebec all have legal recreational marijuana. We should as well. It would make sense to me to have private growers, but only have it available in NH State Liquor Stores."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by licensing growers and private retail locations?

"Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Quebec all have legal recreational marijuana. We should as well. It would make sense to me to have private growers, but only have it available in NH State Liquor Stores."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire legalize the recreational use of marijuana by establishing state-run cannabis stores?
"Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Quebec all have legal recreational marijuana. We should as well. It would make sense to me to have private growers, but only have it available in NH State Liquor Stores."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?

"So far only Milan citizens have voted in Milan. The system that is in place already makes it complicated for new voters and I see no reason to make it more so."Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Quebec all have legal recreational marijuana. We should as well. It would make sense to me to have private growers, but only have it available in NH State Liquor Stores."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire allow at least 10% of students in each school district to enroll in a different public school, regardless of where they live?

"I feel that the system is being set up for failure. If we can make the funding and transportation work, I have no problem with it."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should New Hampshire repeal the ban on abortion after 24 weeks gestation?

"Abortion is between a woman and her doctor. The state has no right to be involved."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should state law cap how much local school districts can increase their budget each year?

"This is just another way to help destroy public education in the state of New Hampshire. It also takes away local control, which so many who support the cap supposedly cherish."

Citizens Count Issue Survey, 2026

Should NH pass stricter gun control laws?

"I need a license to drive a car, to shoot a deer, or to catch a fish. For the first two, I must show the state that I can be trusted with the responsibility. I have no qualms about registrations and/or licenses for my firearms."
