"Education of our children should be left to lawmakers at the state level. I would support a repeal of all federal involvement in public education."

"We continue to see horrific shootings, and the events yesterday in San Bernardino are the latest. Our prayers are certainly with the families of those who lost loved ones and the injured. We again see the same calls by politicians to take away the guns. What about the tactical gear, the bombs, the detonators? What about the fanatical thoughts that led to this tragedy? Could there have been greater security at this facility? We are talking about a state (California) that already has some of the most strict gun control laws in the country. It seems to me the better approach is to provide greater security and arm more people who are in positions to protect these facilities from harm. We also need to call on our Muslim friends to publicly speak out against terrorism and murderous conduct that is being conducted in the name of their religion. Peoples of all religions must learn to live in peace with each other. We must become more vigilant in our security at all public facilities and meetings. We must also continue to monitor those who may have a tendency toward such conduct. This can be done with good police work and without violating civil rights. As president I will propose legislation that improves security and provides arming of security officers for our government facilities, including those on the state and local level."

"We need a balanced budget amendment to our Constitution. As president, I will act as if there is already such an amendment in place. I will approve no budget unless it includes $1 trillion each year toward the payment of the principal of our national debt. At this point, over half of our federal budget goes to paying the interest on the debt."

"I agree with the proposal of President Obama made in 2014 that we should raise the minimum wage to a living wage that takes all workers who work full-time above the poverty level. Raising the minimum wage would boost consumer spending and raise our GDP. It would also remove millions of citizens from the Food Stamp program and other government assistance programs."

"We must take steps to contain and eliminate ISIS. I would initially try to do this through cutting off their supply lines. If this fails, we must find ways to help the countries who are fighting ISIS succeed. The last thing I want to do is place American men and women in harms way to deal with ISIS. However, ISIS may become a severe threat to peace for our allies in the Middle East. If that becomes a reality, we may have no choice but to fight. I would use all means available to defeat ISIS and restore peace to the region. If we make such a sacrifice, I would keep some level of miliatry force in place in the region to continue to monitor the growth of ISIS or similar terrorist cells, and eliminate them."

"To help put more income into working people's pockets, I would remove the current $118,500 cap on income for Social Security, and tax all gross income for Social Security at the rate of 5%. The current rate is 12.4% up to the cap, so this is a significant reduction. However, removing the cap will require higher income taxpayers, such as athletes and CEOs who make millions each year, to pay the same percentage of their income for Social Security as is levied on those making less that $118,500 each year. ... I would oppose the suggestions being made by Republicans to raise the retirement age, cut benefits, or repeal Social Security and Medicare altogether."

"I would repeal ObamaCare in its present form and the fines for not having insurance. We can expand Medicaid to those who cannot afford insurance and cannot afford medical treatment for life threatening illnesses regardless of pre-existing conditions. The current system has increased the cost of insurance and resulted in mass unemployment and reduction in hours of employment."

" I do not support programs that require the taxpayers to pay for college educations. ... I do not support programs that require the taxpayers to pay off student loans."

"We must demand that Iran submit to inspections of its nuclear facilities. Hopefully this can be accomplished through United Nations inspectors. If Iran refuses, then we must form a coalition to go into Iran and inspect their nuclear facilities. With all of their threats of "death to America" and the like, we cannot afford to have a nuclear armed Iran."
