According to the Marijuana Policy Project, Haken responded to a survey indicating support for "creating a reasonable system for regulating marijuana production and sales for legal use by adults 21 and older in New Hampshire" and "allowing adults 21 and older to grow a limited amount of marijuana for their own personal use." Haken also said, "I do not approve of drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco, illegal drugs, tattoos, stupidity, laziness, criminal behavior."
