"We can disagree on public policy. 'How do we pay for the school renovation?' is a policy issue. 'Do trans kids have the same rights as everyone else?' is not. Trans rights are human rights, and human rights can't be up for debate just to appease the unappeasable."

"Many residents commute to Dartmouth and DHMC, and slow approval processes have made the squeeze worse. There's a line to walk between building more housing and overloading our local infrastructure. My goal is to walk it carefully: support new housing where it makes sense, without overwhelming the services these towns depend on."

"Some neighbors are hesitant about property taxes paying for public schools, especially if they don't have kids. But good schools attract more young families to our community, and a well-funded public school system sets kids up for better jobs, grows the tax base, and lifts everyone's quality of life. As a full-time novelist and stay-at-home parent, I raised two children in the Upper Valley and saw that firsthand. The goal is an equitable tax burden that funds our schools without squeezing families."
