Should New Hampshire ban abortions during the first trimester (e.g. after 6 weeks gestation)?

"The current law states that abortion is legal for any reason up to 24 weeks and that law is unlikely to change. Europe has imposed restrictions on abortions for any reason after the first trimester with exceptions afterwards. With the availability of the morning after pill and other preventative measures, there has been a decrease in the need for abortions overall. It's impossible to know an individual's situation, which is why those provisions are in place."

Do you support New Hampshire’s current system of public school funding, with about two-thirds of total funding coming from local property taxes?

"The current education system funding has become complicated because there are federal funds which are distributed to schools via the Department of Education. There are also donor and receiver towns as a result of lawsuits. There are also pre-school and kindergarten programs which receive funding but compensatory education does not start until age 6. While I don't see the current system, where the bulk of the taxes come from local property taxes for the time being, there have been shifts in revenue which need to be considered as well. Programs such as Medicaid to Schools are also covering portions of services and the funding system has become increasingly complex. There are also funds given from the Lottery Program, which is an additional revenue source and all these factors have to be weighed when considering changes to public school funding."
