"I think it has merit for those truly unable to pay for a legitimate private school on their own. But it should be for the low-income or those facing other financial hardships due to e.g. special needs, not subsidizing the rich. "We need to get away from fossil fuels. Doing that successfully requires adopting newer, cleaner energy technologies. In my ideal world it would all be renewables but realistically nuclear will be an important part of the mix for the foreseeable future. SMRs are safer and cheaper than older nuclear plants (and even older nuclear plants have killed fewer people than pollution from coal)."For| Read My Position

"Maybe, but I think there are other revenue solutions we should try first, like legalizing and taxing marijuana, limiting school vouchers to those with true financial need, taxing casinos more, stopping the corporate tax cuts, moving more of the property tax system from local to statewide, and selling the legislative parking garage. Should New Hampshire require new voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when registering to vote?
"I think this question is misleading because the affidavit we have traditionally allowed *is* pretty good proof. The penalties for a noncitizen illegally registering to vote include pretty much automatic deportation, in addition to the state and federal prison sentence they'd get. The risk of election fraud comes from things like cyber attacks on our elections infrastructure, or the federal government intimidating voters, and that's where efforts at election security need to be targeted. A lot of people don't have their birth certificate (or do but it doesn't match their married name, or the middle name they actually go by, etc). This would especially be a problem in combination with the state's new voter purge law, because it was badly written and a lot of people will have to re-register but don't know it yet. They're going to show up on Election Day without their birth certificate and not be able to vote. Under the new law, every year, anyone who hasn't voted in the last 5 years gets kicked off the voter rolls. That includes a lot of newly registered people that common sense wouldn't expect it to include-- anyone who registered after the last election and before the purge, anyone who registered after the Presidential election and missed a city election or the midterm. Yes, the law really is that stupid. They forgot to include an exception for people who have registered within the last five years, because the point was political theatre, not the public welfare."Other| Read My Position

"Yes, if the receiving district pays for it. No if the sending district pays. I support families' right to pick the school that's the best fit for their children, and children from poorer districts shouldn't be shut out of the opportunities offered in rich districts. But demanding that poorer districts be the one to pay for these transfers just widens the gap between the rich districts and the students left behind."For| Read My Position
