"Did you know that education is not a right that is directly covered by the US Constitution. The federal department of education doesn’t directly control the 100,000 public schools in the US, much less the 167 schools in NH. The 10th Amendment comes as close as it gets to stating what happens regarding education, “the powers not delegated to the United states by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.” In other words, education is up to the State and its people, not the federal government. With this in mind what are we doing allowing the federal government to enter our schools? Common Core for example is a top down approach that is unconstitutional! There is a lot of discussion over what Article 83 of the N.H. constitution mandates. It is very clear however that it doesn’t say that the federal government is in any way shape or form responsible for the education of NH’s children, this is backed by the 10th Amendment. It is time to get the FED out of N.H. ED."
